How to use a clay bar?
- Give your car a good cleaning with soapy water to get rid of any loose dirt and stuff. Then, use a soft microfiber towel to dry it off.
- Take the clay bar and squish it in your hands to make it soft and easy to work with. Then, shape it into a flat, small pancake.
- Spray a slippery substance like quick detailer or clay lubricant on a small area of the car’s paint. This helps the clay bar move easily across the surface and keeps it from getting stuck or causing scratches on the paint.
- Rub the clay bar softly back and forth on the wet surface with light to medium pressure. The clay will grab any hidden dirt and make the surface feel smooth.
- While you’re working, from time to time, fold the clay bar in half to reveal a clean part. Doing this makes sure you’re not putting the dirt you picked up back onto the paint.
- After you’re done with a section, use a microfiber towel to wipe it clean and get rid of any leftover lubricant or bits of clay.
- Keep going and do the same thing on the rest of the car. Work on small sections and make sure the clay bar doesn’t dry out or get too dirty.
- After you’re done with the clay bar, put it away in a clean, dry spot to keep it from collecting any dirt or contaminants.
- By following these guidelines, you can effectively and safely use a clay bar, resulting in a smooth and flawless appearance for your car’s paintwork.
