PPF Decon Wash or PPF decontamination wash by DETAILMAX®

To perform a decontamination wash on your paint protection film (PPF), follow these steps:

1. Gather the necessary materials: You will need a bucket, PPF decontamination wash solution, a hose or pressure washer, and clean microfiber towels.
2. Rinse the car: Start by rinsing the entire car with water to remove loose dirt and debris. This step helps prevent any potential scratching during the washing process.
3. Prepare the wash solution: Fill a bucket or spray bottle with water and add the PPF decontamination wash solution. Follow the instructions on the PPF decontamination shampoo bottle for the appropriate dilution ratio of 100ml in 1 litre.
4. Wash the car: Dip the microfiber wash mitt or sponge into the bucket, ensuring it is thoroughly soaked with soapy water. Gently wash the car’s surface, starting from the top and working your way down. Use light pressure and avoid scrubbing aggressively to minimize the risk of damaging the PPF.
5. Rinse frequently: Rinse the wash mitt or sponge frequently in a separate bucket of clean water to remove dirt and debris. This helps prevent any particles from being reintroduced to the surface and causing scratches.
6. Clean hard-to-reach areas: Pay special attention to areas where dirt and grime accumulate, such as crevices, gaps, and around emblems. Use a soft-bristled brush or detailing brush to gently clean these areas.
7. Rinse thoroughly: Once you have finished washing the entire car, thoroughly rinse off the whole solution residue using a hose or pressure washer. Make sure all traces of PPF decontamination wash are entirely removed.
8. Dry the car: Use a clean microfiber towel or drying cloth to dry the car’s surface. Pat the surface gently rather than rubbing, as this can reduce the risk of scratching the PPF.
9. Inspection and touch-up: After drying, inspect the paint protection film for any areas that may require touch-up or additional cleaning.
